苏州织造的明清演变过程，折射出皇朝政府与江南社会的特殊关系，需要从中央与地方的互动视角加以认识。从经济关系观察，为江南商品经济所催生的明代“领织制”和清代“买丝招匠”制，表明苏州织造中逐渐滋生出新质的雇佣劳动因素。在政治关系方面，苏州织造担负着极其特殊的政治使命，成为皇朝掌控江南官场动向和世风民情的枢纽。就文化关系而言，苏州织造通过昆曲在皇家与江南之间牵系起一条无形纽带，以此一方面应承专制政府的差事，另一方面以雅正之音整肃地方文化。对苏州织造的考察可以从一个侧面认识近世中国经济、政治和文化生活的性质。

The evolution of Suzhou Weaving Institution through out Ming and Qing Dynasties reflected a special rela-tionship between the Emperors’central governments and the society in Jiangnan area,which needs a consideration from an interactive perspective.From the perspective of economy,the “leading weaving system" in Ming Dynasty and the “buying silk and recruiting craftsmen system" in Qing Dynasty promoted by the commercial economy in Jiangnan area showed an employing relation of new quality being developed in Suzhou Weaving Institution.And from the angle of politics,Suzhou Weaving Institution undertook an extremely special political mission as being the pivot for the emperors to control the official circles and the situation of the society in Jiangnan area.From the cul-tural perspective,Suzhou Weaving Institution established an invisible bond between the emperors’families and the Jiangnan area by means of Kunqü,by which it could respond to the orders and do the errands of the central govern-ment on the one hand and reinforce and discipline the local culture via elegant sounds on the other hand.The study of Suzhou Weaving Institution may help to know better from a special side the prosperity of economy,politics and culture of China in early modern times.
