在意义建构理论下，口译产出不再是“语言表达”的过程，而是译员使用语言和非语言符号刺激听者进行意义建构的过程。以符号刺激作为口译产出的本质活动，以里奇（Leech）的逻辑、内涵、风格、主题、反映、搭配和情感等七种意义作为口译中要传达的意义，译员应该从信息、语言、文化、思维和情感等五个层面采取替换、补偿、转换等多种策略激发听者成功构建口译中说话人想要传达的意义。

Under Sense-Making theory,target text production in interpreting is no longer a process of “lan-guage expression”,but a process of stimulating the listener to construct meaning by the interpreter using language and non-language signals.Taking sense stimulation with signals as the core of production in inter-preting,and the seven meanings such as conceptual meaning,connotative meaning,stylistic meaning,the-matic meaning,reflective meaning,collocative meaning and affective meaning as the meanings to be con-veyed in interpreting,the interpreter should adopt multi-strategies such as substitution,compensation and shifting to stimulate the listener factually,culturally,linguistically,mentally and emotionally in order that the meaning intended by the speaker might be reconstructed successfully by the listener.
