为进一步提高北京市交通行业公示语汉英翻译质量，本文对城八区地铁站、机场、公交站等重要公共交通场所出现的中文公示语英译进行了全面、深入的实地调研，并采用语料库对比和专家访谈的方法对公示语英译质量进行了评估。结果表明，部分交通公示语的翻译仍然存在比较明显的问题，主要错误可分为四种类型：术语翻译不统一、中式英语、汉英指示不对应、语法及拼写错误。

In order to improve the translation of public transportation signs in Beijing,this article systemati-cally investigates into the errors in the translations of transportation signs in the downtown subways,bus lines,airport and other public transportation places.The collected translations are appraised in the relevant corpus,and experts are also interviewed and consulted for the improvement of the translated version.The findings show that there are still errors and mistakes in the current translation of public transportation signs. It is summarized that the errors can be categorized into four types,namely,inconsistency,Chinglish,incor-respondence,and typos.
