Plants in refinery are various, due to the needs of production and operation, circulating cooling water system cannot be shut down for cleaning and prefilming, resulting in corrosion and fouling problems of the water cooler. The on-line cleaning and prefilming technology can realize the cleaning and prefilming of the circulating cooling water system without stopping, so that the scaling and corrosion of the circulating cooling water system can be controlled. The feasibility of the on-line cleaning and prefilming technology was investigated through using the on-line cleaning and prefilming technology in the circulating cooling water system of a refinery, and some suggestions were put forward.
