结合矿床特点，介绍了下向分层进路胶结充填采矿法在马庄铁矿的应用，并对采准布置、回采工艺、充填等工序进行了详细叙述。该采矿方法在胶结充填体的保护下大断面进路掘进式采矿，回采方式自上而下，回采工程采用凿岩台车、铲运机、装药服务车、运药车等大型设备，采矿安全系数高，盘区生产能力15000 t/月，出矿品位Fe 44.96%，损失率5%，贫化率8%，千吨采准比6.46 m。
