“经脉所过，主治所及”。针灸作为祖国医学的重要组成组分，治疗范围广泛，效果显著，操作简单、方便，在急症与疑难杂症的治疗中均发挥了重要作用，有时甚至远非急救药物所能及。临床研究表明，急症的最大特征为发病快、病程短、病情危重，若不及时处理，会威胁患者生命，而中医针灸沿着患者经脉循行路线，选择相应穴位施针，可对症施治，效果显著。本文首先对中医针灸选穴的重要性和经穴机理加以论述，再从临床角度分析某些急症的临床治疗经验，并简单阐述本经取穴法、表里经取穴法、同名经取穴法等以及对急症类疾病治疗的体会，最后对临床急症治疗中针灸最佳腧穴的选用机理加以探索，为临床实践提供理论依据。
