Enriching the functions of outpatient comprehensive information service is an objective need to support the development of hospitals, also an important mean to improve the hospitals'management level and meet the patients'medical demands.The authors systematically introduced the principles to be followed during expansion of the outpatient information function from five aspects, such as necessity, functionality, feasibility, security and forward-looking perception.
