Side exhaust gas system is a new type of exhaust method. It has obvious advantages in promoting the ability of infrared-stealth and optimizing the arrangement of the open deck equipments. However, it has not been applied widely in the conventional marine design project. In this paper, the composition and function of the side exhaust gas system is introduced. From the electrical point of view, the design rules and the characters of the control and monitoring device of the system is introduced. The arrangement and application of side exhaust gas system is described via a real marine ship example.
