感性思维和理性思维既有区别又有联系，其支配程度的不同，导致人们的抉择会出现巨大差异。过于理性或过于感性，亦或二者兼而有之，其支配下的婚恋观很大程度上决定着人们的婚姻幸福与否。在简·奥斯丁的力作《傲慢与偏见》中，三对典型的婚恋关系充分体现了感性与理性支配下的幸福与不幸。
