In the Zhangbei area, there is a wide distribution ot microlithic remains, wmcn have been recorded mainly at Ertai town, on the northern side of the General Farm of Chabei Pasture, around Zhangwanying village, at the Liuwang Tree Farm, south of Daxiying and east of Duanjiaying in Zhangbei county and southwest of Yujiaying in Guyuan county. The abundant artifacts include microliths (cores and blades), flake-tools (flakes, arrowheads, spear heads, scrapers, awls, points and burins), large stone implements (chopping tools) and pottery shards. Animal bones and hematite ore were also found.The discovery of microliths in this zone is of great significance to the study of the history of human society in the Zhangbei area.
