论述了山水城市思想产生的背景,追寻钱学森先生思维发展的轨道,研究了山水城市思想的形成与发展过程;在归纳钱学森先生对"山水城市"本体概念的原则阐述以及社会知名学者、专家对"山水城市"概念释义的基础上,提炼出对"山水城市"的理解及定义.阐述了"山水城市"研究的重大意义及对未来研究的展望.认为山水城市是21世纪中国城市发展的一种最新模式,值得研究、探索和实践.

The paper discusses the background of the formation of the thinking of River and Mountain City, follows up the track of the development of the thinking of Mr. Qian Xuesen and studies the formation and development process of the “River and Mountain City”. Based on the induction of the principle description of the thing-in-itseff concept of Mr. Qian Xuesen on the “River and Mountain City” and the paraphrasing of the renowned scholars and experts on the concepts of the River and Mountain City, the author has condensed his comprehension and definition of the “River and Mountain City”. The paper sets forth the significance of the study on the “River and Mountain City” and the vista of the future study. It is held that to develop the River and Mountain City is a most up-to-date mode of the development of Chinese cities in the 21st century, which is worthy to study, explore and practise.
