云梦出土的“安陆市亭”陶器和载有“安陆”史事的竹简、木牍，都证实了魏晋以前“安陆”城就是今日云梦城。郦道元的《水经注》所述的“郧城”其地形地貌，与今安陆城不对号，靠不住；而杜预所言云梦城，得到我国当代著名的历史地理学家谭其骧先生的充分肯定，他在地图上标示：郧城即云梦城。近代安陆境内传闻的某些碑祠不能证明黄香故里在今安陆。
운몽출토적“안륙시정”도기화재유“안륙”사사적죽간、목독，도증실료위진이전“안륙”성취시금일운몽성。역도원적《수경주》소술적“운성”기지형지모，여금안륙성불대호，고불주；이두예소언운몽성，득도아국당대저명적역사지이학가담기양선생적충분긍정，타재지도상표시：운성즉운몽성。근대안륙경내전문적모사비사불능증명황향고리재금안륙。
The pottery, bamboo slips and inscribed wooden tablets unearthed from Yunmeng testified that the Anlu Town before Wei and Jin Dynasty was the present Yunmeng Town, and this was confirmed by Chinese cultural relic atlas. The topography and geomorphology of Yun Town mentioned by Li Daoyuan in Shui Jin Zhu were not in accordence with that of the present Anlu Town, while the Yunmeng Town mentioned by Du Yu was affirmed by the famous historical geographer Tan Qirang, who marked on the map that the Yun Town was the Yunmeng Town. The tablets and ancestral temples in Anlu city can＇t prove that Huang Xiangs native place is in the present Anlu city, whereas the Huang Xiang Tomb in Yunmeng county, the tradition of Huang＇s descendants holding a memorial ceremony for Huang Xiang and the historical administrative regions named after Huang Xiang prove uncontrovertibly that the present Yunmeng county is the native place of Huang Xiang.
