The present paper is an analysis of the problems existing in English writing, focusing on students＇ thesis writing. In addition to a discussion of students＇ common difficulties and inappropriate habits in writing resulted from their mother-tongue interference, it offers some constructive suggestions for teachers concerning their instruction of writing.
