The chief feature of characteristic column in social science journals of tertiary college is ＂particularity＂. In light of current matter, there are six main patterns of characteristic column in social science journals of tertiary college in China. They are as follows： to exhibit own college feature; to highlight local history and culture; to follow the latest advance of academic research; to resort to experts and academics; to rely on specialist association; to renovate feature of no features.
