本文以新的事例说明“中国共产党”的标准译名The Communist Party of China是错误的。作者以此为例进一步讲述一套应用符号学的理论，批评“词字翻译”，主张“传通翻译”。本文还指出，应用符号学理论可以从重新诠释后的老子、孔子和近现代“信达雅”概念中找到源头。

This article cites additional evidences to support the argument that ＂the Communist Party of China＂ mismatch in meaning what it purports to translate, Zhongguo Gongchandang, therefore a mistranslalion. Further, the article uses this example to illustrate a theory that the authors call ＂applied semiotics.＂ The theory, criticizes the commonly practiced ＂word-charaeter interpretation＂ and advocates ＂communicative interpretation.＂ The article also traces some elements of the applied semiotics to a reinterpreted version of some Confucius＂ and Lao Zi＇s writings, and the more recent principles of Chinese translators, Xin Da Ya.
