重庆在学习其他直辖市发展经验的同时，还应注意借鉴东部各省大力培育次中心城市促进区域经济协调发展的经验。次中心城市的培育对于重庆区域经济的发展具有重大促进作用。重庆应选择经济发展水平较高、产业结构较合理、区位条件较好、发展环境较优的周边区市作为次中心城市进行大力培育，在培育过程中应注意改革户籍制度以加速人口向次中心城市集聚、培育蔑好的发展环境以完善次中心城市功能、适当调整行政区划以提高次中心城市的管理效率。

In the learning of the models of the economic development of the other municipalities, Chongqing should also pay special attention to the cultivation of its sub-regional centers to enhance a harmony of economic development among regions, which prevails in the eastern part of China. The cultivation of sub-regional central cities plays an important role in Chongqing＇ s regional economic development. Chongqing should focus on and develop as sub-regional centers the surrounding areas with a higher economic development, a more reasonable industrial structure, a better geographical position, and a more satisfactory economic environment. In the process of cultivation, the residential system should be reformed to promote the gathering of its population around the rub-regional centers; more satisfactory economic environment should be created to enhance the functions of the sub-regional centers and the administrative division should be adjusted to improve the administrative efficiency of the sub-regional centers.
