本文首先描述了人在世界认知巾产生的概念范畴构造系统如何反映和实现于语言之语义／句法构造系统，这个构造系统又成为人进一步认识世界的认知约束而使人陷入认知困境。在此基础上，本文论述了隐喻表达主体与喻体的意象构造如何是一种语用认知构造，能让人产生和宣泄认知感悟而超越认知困窘，和隐喻的交叉指涉意象定义的独特认知功能。本文还论述了隐喻相似性的性质、特点及其语用认知功能，最后从语用关联理论角度讨论隐喻是以喻示和类比推理为原理的言语行为。

This paper first describes how the cognitive system of conceptual categories has been reflected and realized in the semantic/syntax system of language, which often confines further cognition to cause cognitive difficulty. Then. the paper analyses how metaphoric image-schema formed by the correlation of tenor and vehicle in metaphor can serve as the ideal cognitive model which can produce and purge the cognitive comprehension for a cognitive breakthrough, and how the schematic definition of cross reference in metaphoric expressions has the unique and important function for the cognitive breakthrough. The paper also analyzes, in terms of cognitive pragmatics, the nature, features, and breakthrough function of similarity-points in metaphoric expressions. Finally, it makes use of pragmatic theory of relevance to analyze metaphor as a special speech act based on comparative demonstration and analogous inference.
