在分析了摘要的功能与价值的基础上，针对英文摘要编写中出现的问题，提出编辑必须重视英文摘要的中文写作、认真体会科技英语的语言特点以及严格把关，才能保证中文科技期刊英文摘要的高质量和高检索率。文中还对相关问题进行了举例说明。

The functions and values of abstracts in Sci-Tech papers are analyzed. Based on some problems in English abstracts of Chinese Sci-Tech Journals, this paper pointed out that the editors must attach importance to the Chinese writing of English abstracts and master the linguistic features of Engish of S＆T in order to gurantee the high quality and high indes rate of English abstract of Chinese Sci＆Tech periodicals. Samples are presented to illustrate those related problems in the paper.
