The ways to reduce transportation noise for dwelling districts includes sound mask, mound and vegetation. But the effect depends on the sound source feature and the design rationality of these measures, and the sound reducing capacity is from 2dB to 20dB. These ways must be put into use by actual situation. Otherwise it can not reach the anticipative resuit. Combining with a noise reduction project and making use of computer to imitating the result of different noise reduction measures, this paper discusses how to reduce transportation noise made by middle and large automobiles in dwelling districts.
