中国传统心理思想不把理想人格当作某种独立于人的客观存在，而总是将其置于感应关系中。感应关系注重相互影响：对理想人格采取感叹、比兴、以具体言行呈现形象的叙事方式能加强其感染力；而以崇敬之情、凝聚的精神去了解理想人格也容易与之发生感通。对理想人格的内在理解须经过人格转化的过程，以自身的体验印证理想人格的言行。诠释、感应、人格转化同时完成。
