苏共二十大为中国共产党人解放思想,探求一条具有中国特色的社会主义道路提供了契机,毛泽东对中国社会主义建设道路进行了可贵的探索,提出了一些崭新的理论观点：社会主义社会基本矛盾的学说;建设有中国特点的社会主义;加强民主政治建设;新经济政策及多党合作等。然而,匈牙利事件及国内工人闹事现象中止了毛泽东可贵的探索,中国错失了社会主义发展的良机。

The Twentieth Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party provided an opportunity for the Chinese communists to liberate their thoughts and seek a socialist road with unique Chinese characteristics. Mao Zedong made a profound exploration into building socialist road and put forward some original theories, which included the theory of fundamental contradictions in socialist society, building socialism with unique Chinese characteristics; strengthening democratic and political construction, new economic policy and multi-party cooperation, etc. However, the Hungarian Incident and the domestic workers＇ riots ended Mao Zedong＇s precious exploration, which made China lose a good opportunity to develop socialism.
