晚清重臣张之洞督鄂18年，致力于湖北新政建设，使得十九二十世纪之交的湖北区域发展出现兴旺局面，成为全国的示范之区。总结他在湖北的一系列作为，可归纳为识势、谋政、理财、用人四个方面。系统梳理其成败得失，对湖北实现中部崛起的目标大有裨益。

As the important minister of the late Qing Dynasty, Zhang Zhidong governed Hubei for 18 years. He devoted himself in the new deal, industry and commerce of Hubei. So Hubei＇s region development came out a prosperous situation in the late 19th century and early 20th century, and set an example for the country. We conclude his series of deeds in Hubei, which mainly reflected in the four aspects： submitting to circumstance, striving for governing, managing money matters, and making use of personnel, and these were also the crystallization of his political experience. Systematically sorting out his opinions on public affairs and deeds is beneficial to achieving the goal of Hubei＇s middle part rising.
