公证员在证据保全活动中，除了具有公证证明人、现场监督人身份外，能否还可以担当录音、录像、制图及必要的简单鉴定和勘验等角色，即公证员能否具有“多重身份”，究竟哪些“专业性”问题应该属于公证员“止步”的范畴，尚无具体规定。事实上，在证据保全公证活动中公证员的“多重身份”不会因专业性存在或者难以界定而改变“多重身份”，公证员的“多重身份”是客观存在的，受到侵害或发生意外事件时，当事人常常利用公证员特殊的“多重身份”来保全证据。
