Opening the outdoor survival training course for college physical education specialty meets the require-ments of the curriculum guiding outlet for physical education specialty issued by Ministry of Education. By taking the process of making the outdoor survival training course practical for physical education specialty in Shaoguan College for example, the authors introduced the design of curriculum objectives, teaching content modules and teaching examination methods as well as the gains in curriculum practice, analyzed such difficulties for the college outdoor survival training course as the establishment of the curriculum system, shortage of event specific teachers, as well as the time and safety pressure for outdoor practice, and put forward such measures for curriculum devel- opment as the training of event specific teachers, establishment of training bases, advocacy of team lecturing, and intensification of safety education and design.
