理学家真德秀和魏了翁，文学观念同属于理学家文学观范畴，有着很大的相似性。他们都重道轻文，重视用文学形式传达理学义理，强调文学的经世致用功能，主张温柔敦厚的文学风格论等。他们文学观的差异体现为魏了翁主张才学合一，真德秀认为文、学、气三者关系密切；魏了翁主张自得，真德秀偏重继承。在文学创作上，真、魏既有表现内容的一致性，也有表现技巧的专擅和艺术特色的不同，可谓双峰并峙，二水竞流，各有清辉，不可轻易轩轾。
이학가진덕수화위료옹，문학관념동속우이학가문학관범주，유착흔대적상사성。타문도중도경문，중시용문학형식전체이학의리，강조문학적경세치용공능，주장온유돈후적문학풍격론등。타문문학관적차이체현위위료옹주장재학합일，진덕수인위문、학、기삼자관계밀절；위료옹주장자득，진덕수편중계승。재문학창작상，진、위기유표현내용적일치성，야유표현기교적전천화예술특색적불동，가위쌍봉병치，이수경류，각유청휘，불가경역헌지。
Zhen Dexiu and Wei Liaoweng were both Neo-confucian scholars, their Literary concepts was very similar and were both deeply effected by Neo-confucian principle .For example, they attentioned to doctrine more than Literature, they always used Literary form to convey Neo-confucian principle, they emphasized the practical function of literature, they preferenced gentle and honest Literature style and so on. The difference between their Literary concepts existed in： Wei Liaoweng advocated uniting one＇s talent and learning together; Zhen Dexiu thought there are close ties between article~ learning and subjective spirit; Wei Liao weng claimed self-contented but Zhen Dexiu imbalanced inheritance. In literature production, they both have consistency in performance content and difference in performance skill and artistic feature. It can be said that they are unique, just like bimodal living side by side and two river competing flow that each has their charm, however, can not be easily compared.
