依照《普通高中课程方案（实验）》，基于安徽省生态省建设和环境教育实际，高中阶段在完成地理必修、选修Ⅰ学习后，开设地理选修Ⅱ地方课程环境与可持续发展教育。课程的核心价值在于实现《中小学环境教育实施指南（试行）》《普通高中地理课程标准（实验）》提出的环境教育目标，追求形成对环境教育的科学认识，引导学生积极参与安徽省生态省建设。教材的内容结构和组织体现环境教育的综合性和实践性，同时注意把握与高中地理必修2和选修Ⅰ模块6课程的关系。作为地方教材，注意体现地方特色。

According to the Curriculum Scheme for Senior High Schools （experiment） and the politics of Anhui ecological province construction and environmental education, the local course ＂Environment and Sustainable Development Education＂ will be open to students after their completion of compulsory courses and optional Ⅰ. The core values of the course lie in achieving environmental education goals put forward by Instructions for Environmental Education Practice in Primary and High Schools （pilot） and Geography Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools （ experiment ） , arousing students＇ scientific awareness of environmental education and activating students to participate in ecological province construction. The content and structure of the course reflect comprehensiveness and practicality of environmental education and at the same time grasp the relations between Senior Geography Compulsory Ⅱ and Optional Ⅰ module 6. As a local course, it has outstanding local characteristics.
