The middle construction is one of the most common items of English grammar. As a special construction of grammar relation between semantics and syntax, this paper, first of all, depicts the middle construction in a simple way. Then the paper approaches the linguistic features of the middle construction from the angles of the semantic expression and the syntactic representation and explains the formation process with the aid of some typical examples.
