本文探讨了专业课程比率与就业市场需求之间的相关性问题。基于经济学观点的分析表明,专业化教育可使大学生获得从事专业型工作的优势,而通识化教育使毕业生在获得专业混合型工作上占优,因此专业课程设置比率应该与该专业毕业生从事专业型工作的就业率正相关。上述理论结论在本文的实证检验中得到基本验证。

This study is an economic analysis of the relationship between the ratio of specialised versus foundational courses in undergraduate curricular and labour market needs. The study argues that specialised education can endow the students with prior-work advantage in specific professional field, while general education can better prepare the students with generic skills for working in diversified field. Hence the ratio of specialise versus foundational courses needs to be set in proportion to the employment rate of the student working in corresponding Profession.
