Riqing Corporation （also known as the ＂Riqing Steamboat Corporation＂） was an important representative of the shipping business in China before World War II. During its 32-year operation, it received con- stant subsidies from the Japanese government, for it actually served as a ＂National Policy Agency＂ to carry out the country＇s foreign policies. Analyses and explorations of the company＇s business and its social and economic influence on the Yangtze River valley can reveal its nature of invasion, showing that the Japanese investment into the shipping business in China before World War II was not only an economic action but also an important part of its invasion policy. That is, Riqing Corporation actually served as an important tool for the Japanese economic invasion in China.
