在语言交际中,预设是以隐含的方式内嵌于句子或语段之中的信息或命题,是双方共同拥有的背景知识。主位引起话题表达已知信息,述位叙述话题内容表达新信息。本文基于Leech的预设理论,从Mathesius和Halliday的主位述位理论的角度,探讨预设与原句之间的关系,探究预设与主位、述位之间的关系,旨在进一步揭示预设的性质。

In language communication activities,presupposition,as the mutual knowledge of the two parties,refers to the implicit information or proposition embedded in a sentence or utterance,while theme,the given information,offers what is to be described by theme,the new information. On the basis of Leeeh's presupposition theory and from the perspective of Mathesius and Halliday's theme-rheme theory,this paper aims at revealing the nature of presupposi- tion by exploring the relation between presupposition and the original sentence,and the relation between presupposition and theme-rheme construction.
