统筹城乡发展将是我国长期战略选择和建设社会主义新农村的必由之路。在政府采取措施统筹城乡发展中，城乡间差距的扩大化趋势说明了政策亟需调整和优化。在新形势下应当以公共服务均等化为目标，进一步推动统筹发展，最终消除城乡二元经济结构和城乡间差距，实现城乡、区域协调发展及城乡经济一体化。

The coordinated development of rural and urban area is the long-term strategic choice and the approach to constructing new socialist rural area. While the government is taking measures to coordinate the development in rural and urban area, the gap between them still keeps enlarging. Therefore, the policy needs to be adjusted and optimized. Under the new situations, the equal access to public services shall become the goal and direction for the coordinated development so as to eliminate the dual economic structure in rural and urban area, realize the coordinated development between rural and urban areas as well as between various regions and achieve the economic integrity.
