辛亥革命前后，随着地方自治思潮和活动的兴起，苏州市民公社诞生于社会转折性变迁中。此后，这一国内仅见形态的基层自治组织，始终与地方政府保持着既平行合作又矛盾冲突的关系。它的一系列实践，拓宽了社会公共领域。作为一种社会秩序自我调节、社会能量自我集聚的现代社会组织力量，市民公社在中国社会由传统走向现代化过程中扮演了重要角色。
辛亥革命前後，隨著地方自治思潮和活動的興起，囌州市民公社誕生于社會轉摺性變遷中。此後，這一國內僅見形態的基層自治組織，始終與地方政府保持著既平行閤作又矛盾遲突的關繫。它的一繫列實踐，拓寬瞭社會公共領域。作為一種社會秩序自我調節、社會能量自我集聚的現代社會組織力量，市民公社在中國社會由傳統走嚮現代化過程中扮縯瞭重要角色。
신해혁명전후，수착지방자치사조화활동적흥기，소주시민공사탄생우사회전절성변천중。차후，저일국내부견형태적기층자치조직，시종여지방정부보지착기평행합작우모순충돌적관계。타적일계렬실천，탁관료사회공공영역。작위일충사회질서자아조절、사회능량자아집취적현대사회조직역량，시민공사재중국사회유전통주향현대화과정중분연료중요각색。
Before and after the Revolution of 1911, the ideological trend of local self - government emerged and its activities sprang up. It was along with such tremendous social changes that the Commune of Suzhou Residents was born. Afterwards, this unique grass - root＇ s self - government organization, whose shape was only visible in China, invariably maintained a relationship of parallel cooperation and contradictory conflict with local governments. It conducted various activities, which helped expand social public spheres. As the force of an organization in modern society in which its social order was self - adjusted and social ener- gy was self - accumulated, the Commune of Suzhou Residents played a very important role in the process in which the Chinese society moved or advanced from a traditional society to a modernized one.
