冷战结束之后，中东欧国家积极谋求加入欧盟，从安全角度讲，主要是基于综合安全需要，即历史上种族、宗教、边界纠纷引发的冲突与战争留下的痛苦的记忆；反恐、反跨国犯罪，以及预防和解决地区冲突等非传统安全威胁；对德国、俄罗斯的侵略历史及其大国行径充满疑惧。欧盟是当今世界公认的解决综合安全最成功的地区组织，加入欧盟，有助于中东欧化解面临的各种问题。

After the Cold War, the Central and Eastern European countries actively joined the European Union.From the perspective of security, it is mainly based on the race, religion, the border dispute triggered by conflict, a comprehensive security needs, namely, the history of painful memory left by war; anti - terrorism, anti - transnational crime, preventing and settling regional conflicts, and non -traditional security threats. With the memory of the aggression of Germany and Russia, doubts and fears the past wars, they joined the European Union which is generally taken as a successful Regional organization so that these problems can be resolved gradually.
