我国普通高中教育存在的主要矛盾是学生成长的全面需要与“升学竞争”压力之间的矛盾。要解决这个矛盾，必须进行高中教育整体改革的实验。此实验的主要内容分为两个部分：（1）改革现行高中的教育制度，要求明确高中的教育任务、采取多样的办学模式、优化高中的课程设计、强化高中的教学改革、推进高中的管理改革；（2）进一步改革高等学校的招生制度，包括考生资格的审查、高考方案的修改、多元高考机构的建立以及考生志愿的申报。为了完成上述改革任务，必须进行一场比较持久、比较规范的实验。

The principal contradiction in high school education of China is between the needs of students＇ all-round development and the pressure of the competition of students＇ entering colleges. In order to solve such a contradiction, we must conduct an experiment of entire reform of high school education. The main contents of the experiment include two parts： （1） the reform of present high school education system, which demands to make clear and definite educational tasks, to take a variety models for running schools, to make better the curriculum design, to strengthen the reform in teaching, to promote the reform of school administration; （2） further reform of the admissions system of colleges and universities, which includes the examination on the qualifications of candidate for an entrance examination, the revision of the scheme of entrance examination of colleges and universities, establishment of diversified entrance examination organs and the application for entrance examination. Hence, a comparatively lasting and standard experiment must be conducted.
