“磁石学校”设立之初强调以特色来吸引学生入学就读，以改进教育教学质量为宗旨，它是美国公立学校改革的一种实现形态。然而，纵观美国“磁石学校”的发生与发展过程，它在实现多元化种族融合的目标、实现特色化教学从而促进学校改进以及促进教育公平等方面并未达到预期的效果。美国“磁石学校”特色创新的理念与实践给当前我国盛行的追求办学特色之风提供了一定的启示与警示意义。
“磁石學校”設立之初彊調以特色來吸引學生入學就讀，以改進教育教學質量為宗旨，它是美國公立學校改革的一種實現形態。然而，縱觀美國“磁石學校”的髮生與髮展過程，它在實現多元化種族融閤的目標、實現特色化教學從而促進學校改進以及促進教育公平等方麵併未達到預期的效果。美國“磁石學校”特色創新的理唸與實踐給噹前我國盛行的追求辦學特色之風提供瞭一定的啟示與警示意義。

American magnet school emphasizes drawing on students to choose the school with its special features and the aims of high education quality from its beginning of establishment. Magnet school is one of the innovative forms of American public school. However, viewing its emerging and development process, we can find that magnet school hasn＇t achieved its targets of blending diversified races, improving school with special features in teaching and promoting education equity. The idea and experience of American magnet school provide some implications and warnings to our present education reform.
