在19世纪末至20世纪二三十年代这段时期，为了反驳“黄祸”论对日本的歧视和侮辱，日本有人提出“日本人种西来”说，强调日、中种族相异；有人重新划分人种，认为俄国人种已发生变异；更有人以“文明进化”、“国体”和对外战争的胜利等为由，宣扬日本人种和民族的“优胜”。种种舆论共同促成了日本人的自大心理，终至走上了藐视他人、疯狂膨胀扩张的失败之路。

During the period from the end of 19^th century to 1920s and 1930s, some Japanese put forward the theory of Japanese coming from the west to refute the discrimination and insult the theory of Yellow Peril brought to Japanese; some Japanese reclassified human races and pointed out that Russian race had gone through variation; some Japanese advocated the theory of superiority of Japaness race based on the reasons of civilization, state system and overseas victories, all of which contributed to the formation of Japanese arrogant psychology and finally led them to step on the fatal road of crazy expansion.
