我国的森林分类经营将森林划分为生态公益林和商品林,但对于分类后的森林,特别是商品林的经营尚缺乏明确的理论指导。为此,提出了林木市场成熟理论,它是社会主义市场经济体制下关于商品林商品化经营的森林经营理论。其理论内核:一是以市场供求关系决定的市场价格来确定林木成熟龄;二是以市场需求来确定商品林经营规划。前者从时间上对林业生产进行布局,根据市场因素确定林木的成熟龄;后者从空间上对林业生产进行布局,并以市场成熟龄为基础。
