本文介绍了虚拟技术在教育中的应用形式,即浸入式、非浸入式的虚拟现实模拟(VR)和虚拟环境(VEs),并通过具体的应用案例介绍了虚拟实验室在远程教育实验环节中的应用,以及虚拟世界和虚拟社会是如何为远程教育提供实践场所、仿真或超现实的社会实践活动的。

In recent years, technology has led to dramatic changes in distance education. As a result, some inher- ent shortcomings of distance learning have surfaced, and these include the lack of interaction between instructors and learners, or among larners, the lack of synchronized learning and laboratory experience. Applications of virtual technologies such as virtual reality (VR) simulations and virtual environments ( VEs ) may overcome some of these shortcomings. VE may also prove to be useful to conventional education while improving learning quality. In this paper ~ virtual technologies such as virtual reality (VR) simulations and virtual environments (VEs) are applied in education. Immersive and non-immersive VR and VEs are introduced. The paper also presents detailed examples of the application of virtual laboratory in distance education in order to solve the problem of the lack of laboratory ex- perience. The paper also introduces how virtual world and virtual society provide platforms for hands-on practices, as well as reality simulations of hands-on practices.
