词汇教学是教学中的重点。为了有效扩大学习者词汇量并助其运用正确的词汇遣词造句,英语教师首先应该使学生了解英汉两种语言词汇构成规律之间的差异。本文根据认知语言学中的“基本层次范畴”理论,对英汉语言中种属概念词构成规律进行对比研究,探讨其对英语词汇教学的启示,旨在促进英语词汇教学,推动认知语言学与英语词汇教学实践的有效结合。

Vocabulary teaching is essential to English teaching. To enlarge learners' vocabulary and help them use correct words to make sentences, teachers should make their students know the differences between English and Chinese in the rules of word-formation. From the perspective of the theory of the basic level category in cognitive linguistics,this paper makes a comparative study of the formation rules of species words in English and Chinese to explore its implication to English vocabulary teaching and to promote the application of cognitive linguistics to English vocabulary teaching.
