胡锦涛同志关于祖国和平统一主张中的以人为本思想是马克思主义唯物史观的重要体现，是对“和平统一、一国两制”科学内涵的丰富与发展。主要表现在：任何涉及中国主权和领土完整的问题，必须由包括台湾同胞在内的全中国人民共同决定，体现了人民群众是历史活动主体的唯物史观；推进祖国和平统一大业和现阶段实现两岸关系和平发展，是两岸人民共同的伟大事业，要靠两岸同胞共同努力和开创，体现了人民群众创造历史的唯物史观；把寄希望于台湾人民的方针贯彻到各项对台工作中去，体现了一切为了群众、一切依靠群众的唯物史观。

The human orientation ideology in HU Jin- tao＇s proposition on peaceful reunification China is the enrichment and development to ＂peaceful reunification and one country, two systems＂. Any matter regarding China＇s sovereignty stateme fication territorial integrity must be decided by the entire Chinese people including our Taiwan compatriots. This nt reflects the historical materialism that people are the subject of historical activities. Promoting peaceful reuniand achieving peaceful development of Cross - Straits relations at current stage are the common great cause for people from both sides of Taiwan Straits, and it requires joint efforts and initiatives from the compatriots from both sides. This reflects the historical materialism that people create history. We need to implement the guidelines of ＂placing hopes on Taiwan people＂ in all our work related to Taiwan affairs. This reflects the historical materialism of all for people and all depend on people.
