区域科学及其相关学科对区位问题的关注由来已久。区位选择理论指的是在一定的约束条件下，按照一定的原则选择最优区位的理论，我们也可以简单地认为区位选择理论就是研究选址的理论。在区位选择理论的发展过程中，作出了重要贡献的学者主要有德国的冯·杜能、韦伯、廖什和克里斯泰勒，瑞典的帕兰德，美国的胡佛和普雷德等。他们的研究方法包括成本（运费）最小化、利润最大化、行为主义分析等等。区位选择理论关于空间问题的分析，对于指导实际经济工作具有重要的理论意义。

The Regional Science and related disciplines have long been concentrating on the location problem. Location selection theory refers to the selection of optimal location according to certain principles under certain constraints. We can also simply view it as the theory of choosing a location. In the development of the location selection theory, some scholars have made important contributions, such as yon Thuenen, A. Weber, A. Loesch and W. Christaller of Germany, T. Palander of Sweden, and E. Hoover and A. Pred of America. The methods they used include cost minimization, profit maximization and behavior analysis. The spatial analysis of location selection theory is theoretically useful for practical work. The paper brings forward five theorems about location selection theory and their rigorous mathematical proofs. Besides, the application of the five theorems is briefly discussed.
