在城市化进程中，农村集体土地被大量的征用，大量农民离开了他们赖以生存的土地成了失地农民。由于现行的征地补偿制度存在着种种缺陷，导致失地农民生活困难，为此，妥善安置失地农民就成为我国建设和谐社会一个不可忽视的重大问题。为维护社会的稳定，保障失地农民的生活，应该积极推进征地制度改革，完善征地补偿安置政策，确保政策的落实到位，并建立健全失地农民社会保障体系，以彻底解决失地农民的后顾之忧。

In the process of urbanization, a lot of collective lands in the countryside have been taken over for use; so many farmers have to leave the lands they have been relied on and become farmers with no land. Since the current relevant compensation system is far from perfect, life becomes very difficult for those farmers. Therefore, in order to build a harmonious society, it is important and urgent to properly help those farmers settle down and make their life possible. To get this done, the government should reform the relevant compensation system and improve relevant policy, and should ensure the proper enforcement of the policy. Additionally, the government should develop its social security system to protect the interests of the farmers who lost their lands.
