交际教学法的实施使创造力和外语学习之间的关系成为一个有趣而重要的话题,但还没有引起外语研究者的足够重视。本文通过测试中国英语学习者创造力水平及其隐喻生成能力并通过控制英语语言水平对创造力与隐喻生成能力的关系进行了探讨。数据分析表明,创造力和隐喻生成能力之间存在显著的相关关系。文章最后讨论了本研究结果对外语学科培养创新型人才的启示意义。

The prevalence of the communicative language teaching approach gives due prominence to the relationship between foreign language learners' creativity and their language proficiency. However, insufficient attention has been given to this relationship within the field of foreign language research. The present study explores the correlation between Chinese EFL learners' creativity and their English metaphor production performance by examining their levels in creativity and metaphor production and by controlling their English language proficiency. The results show that there exists a significant correlation between the two factors mentioned previously. Discussed at the end of the paper are the implications of this study to cultivate creative foreign language learners in the Chinese context.
