Classroom teaching is the key of college English teaching reform which is a complicated systematic project. Starting from analyzing the shortcomings in the current situation of college English teaching, this paper focuses on how to make college English classroom teaching more effective from four aspects: the teaching model, the teacher's role, the students' English learning strategy and the building of teaching materials.
