诚信观贯穿于我国几千年来的传统文明的始终。诚信观的缺失又是当今社会的普遍现实，并且严重影响到市场经济的发展。我们对待诚信观的科学态度应是吸取精华，析出糟粕，要努力探求在心理约束和舆论约束等软约束为主要特征的传统诚信观，与法律约束和制度约束等硬约束为主要特征的现代诚信理念之间的平衡点，即在继承中国传统诚信观精华的基础上构建适应市场经济发展要求的现代诚信体系。
성신관관천우아국궤천년래적전통문명적시종。성신관적결실우시당금사회적보편현실，병차엄중영향도시장경제적발전。아문대대성신관적과학태도응시흡취정화，석출조박，요노력탐구재심리약속화여론약속등연약속위주요특정적전통성신관，여법률약속화제도약속등경약속위주요특정적현대성신이념지간적평형점，즉재계승중국전통성신관정화적기출상구건괄응시장경제발전요구적현대성신체계。
The concept of honesty is not only an old topic but also a new one. The old topic refers to the honesty that has survived thousands of years in traditional Chinese civilization. The new topic refers to the lack of honesty that is prevalent now in China and exerts much negative influence on the current market and economic development in China. The first part of the paper summarizes the three concepts of honesty, the second part applies the game theory to analyzing the traditional society of China, the third part expounds the relationship between the market economy and the concept of honesty, and the last part discusses the cultivating of the concept of honesty in line with the market economy.
