成人教育的发展使终身教育从教育理念走向教育实践。终身教育由此呈现鲜明的职业发展内涵。成人高等教育必须适应终身教育越来越突出的职业发展特征,促使其转变传统的办学观念,重新确定培养目标,改革教学模式,调整课程结构,变革教学内容,努力满足成人终身学习的需求。即培养学习者的职业能力。

With the development of adult education, lifelong education has shifted from educational principles to educational practices. Naturally, the connotation of vocational development has been a distinct feature of lifelong education. Adult higher education has to be modulated to the remarkable characteristic of vocational development in lifelong education in order to fulfill the following purposes: to reform the traditional principles of running schools, to redesign the objectives, to change the teaching model, to revise the course constructer, to update teaching contents, and to satisfy the needs of adult lifelong learning, which means converting the cultivation of academic competency into that of vocational competency.
