stylistic device of Xing; Zheng Xuan; comparison; Zheng Xuan's commentary on Shijing
人们历来重视对《毛传》“标兴”的认识,却很少关注《郑笺》对《毛传》“标兴”的认识和发展。《郑笺》的这种认识和发展在形式上表现为对部分《毛传》“标兴”之诗不作兴体解,增加新的比兴诗和在注解上大量突破《毛传》一诗只标一处“兴也”;而实质上则表现为一是郑玄理解的“兴”的内涵与毛公有了一定的改变,二是郑玄将“兴”作为一种注释的体例较毛公有了发展和完善,言语上的用诗之“兴”正式转变成了文学上的创作之“兴”,以“兴”作为诗的一种作法和表现手法的阐释理论得以确立。
人們歷來重視對《毛傳》“標興”的認識,卻很少關註《鄭箋》對《毛傳》“標興”的認識和髮展。《鄭箋》的這種認識和髮展在形式上錶現為對部分《毛傳》“標興”之詩不作興體解,增加新的比興詩和在註解上大量突破《毛傳》一詩隻標一處“興也”;而實質上則錶現為一是鄭玄理解的“興”的內涵與毛公有瞭一定的改變,二是鄭玄將“興”作為一種註釋的體例較毛公有瞭髮展和完善,言語上的用詩之“興”正式轉變成瞭文學上的創作之“興”,以“興”作為詩的一種作法和錶現手法的闡釋理論得以確立。

Mao Heng's annotation of Shijing (《诗经》) and his commentary on the styhstic device of Xing (兴) in particular, has long received wide attention, while little attention was given to Zheng Xuan's acknowledgement and development of Mao's commentary on Xing. Based on Mao's recognition of Xing in Shijing, Zheng developed his own criterion to identify the very stylistic device in this great ancient Chinese classic: some such devices identified by Mao are denied and some ignored or omitted by Mao are added not only quan- titatively but also qualitatively. Another contribution made by Zheng is that he promoted Xing from a simple linguistic device to an effective literary device, thus establishing the hermeneutic theory of Xing as an essential literary device created by Shijing.
