The manuscript in the Uighur script entitled Hsin TOzin Oqidtaci Nom is the only Buddhist philosophical work extant so far. It is known to all that the Vast majority of the extant Uighur Buddhist manuscripts have been translated from works written in other languages. No consensus has yet been reached as to the origin of this document. In this paper, however, by way of integrating the predecessors＇ results and analyzing the linguistic features as evidenced in the text the author argues that this document is an indigenous original in the ancient Uighur language rather than a translation.
