Both United States of America and China are great powers of walnuts producing and trading. Whereas, the development history and industrial status of the two countries were different obviously. China is the biggest country of walnut producing and consumption in the world. Furthermore, the acreage and yield had been ranked in the top. However, the occupancy rate of intemational market dropped from 1/2 in the middle period to 1/10 by the end of the 20th century. Though it is only 140 years for American introducing the walnut, the United States of American has developed into the power of walnuts, and the portion of American walnut, takes the top spot in the world, which is up to 2/3 of the international market. The paper makes a comparative analysis on walnut resources, development history, industrial status and industrial policy between United States of American and China, in order to figure out the position which is still worthy studying and using for reference nowadays, aiming to promote the healthy development of China walnut industry.
