利用第五次全国人口普查数据1‰原始数据,以家庭户和婚姻单元为分析单位,得到普查时全国从妻居家庭户的大致比例和不同婚姻队列的从妻居婚姻比例。揭示出从妻居在某些地域的流行既可能与特定的文化、习俗等制度性因素有关,也可能是特定家庭为了应对人口和经济现状而做出的策略性反应。这些结果对于理论研究和实际工作都有重要参考价值。

Based on the 1‰ sample data from the Fifth Census,the paper describe the temporal and spatial distribution of uxorilocal marriage over the country firstly,through treating household and marriage unit separately as our analysis unit.We find the proportions of uxorilocal household and uxorilocal marriage in 2000,and the proportion of uxorilocal marriage for specific cohort of marriage.We argue not only that the prevalence of uxorilocal marriage in some district may be relevant to institutional factors,such as particular culture and custom,etc.,but also that this should be viewed as a strategic response for some families in face of demographic and economic jam.These results have important theoretical and practical reference value.
